Denise Gives Thanks…and Other Stuff

A few years ago, when the pandemic raged and there seemed little to be thankful for, my wife Denise Kiernan released a trio of books about the American holiday of Thanksgiving and the life-saving practice of gratitude. Recently, Our State magazine published an article on Denise for their November issue, and then followed that up with two podcasts and two YouTube videos. It’s a huge amount of content focused one North Carolina writer, a global concept, and a whole lot of turkey.

Since we are heading into that four-day weekend as we speak, I thought I’d share that material with you lovely folks, since you will have plenty of time to sate yourself on Denise’s work after you’ve slipped away from the table.

Our State is a regional magazine devoted to all things Cackalackie. Their article on Denise, written by bestselling, beloved North Carolina laureate Wiley Cash, is right here:

Some friends have asked why the magazine broke up these interviews into two parts rather than run one chunky podcast or video. I think they have a long-standing practice of devoting each month to a different North Carolina author. And Wiley—whose own writing you should definitely check out—designs each conversation so that it touches on slightly different content.

So there. Go forth, express gratitude, and check out Denise’s talks.

And lest I forget: why not check out her Thanksgiving books? You can do right here:
